Its frustrating because its a 50-ish black man. And the name on my card is obviously female.
The detective also told me that the Macy's loss prevention department contacted the cashier who rung up the first purchase, and she said that she knew it was wrong, but she was afraid and did it anyway. He was wearing a white lab coat and had a stethoscope around his neck. He told her she needed to just hurry up, this was his wife's card, and he needed to get back to the hospital. I hope that cashier is no longer working retail anywhere.
The detective also told me that he is working with a detective in St. Peters, where this perp is wanted in connection with similiar crimes out there. His M.O. is to break into cars. At first, I was adament that I had maybe dropped my wallet, but the more I think about it, maybe I had it on the passenger seat and the grocery bag on top. Then when I got out of the car, I just grabbed the bag, leaving the wallet in plain view on the seat. I also noticed that I couldn'd find the phone charger in the glove box. All the cords and LIFETIME and NOFX cd's are accounted for, but not the actual charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter. So maybe my car was the scene of the initial crime. I'm not certain, though.
