Pickle Springs Hike

Jason and I went to Pickle Springs today, which was also the last time I will drive to Farmington to visit him.  He is moving to STL for work and so we can be close to each other.

Hike was nice, we got turned around once at the beginning and had to walk back to the trailhead to check the map---what a bunch of wienies!  We were on the trail for about 90 minutes.  Lots of great natural rock formations.  Scenic overlook was exactly as I remembered.  Lots of moss and ferns; while its still cold here, there are signs that spring is on the way!  There were several areas where there were waterfalls, some of them frozen, and the ice was just beautiful just glistening in the sun.

Happy early birthday!

I got home today, and there was a letter from Forest Park!  I have been invited to start the dental hygiene program THIS fall semester!

I am so excited!  I can quit my job!  I can sell my car!  I can never see mega-jerk co-worker ever again!!

stay-cation

Dr. S is on vacation, and the office is just closed.  I was pumped to have some time at home. And I have been SO PRODUCTIVE!

I have been editing like crazy.

And we really did luck out with being closed this week because it's full on Missouri (misery) out there.  I'm glad to stay inside.  And not have to deal with going in to work and having patients cancel and having to reschedule.

I was supposed to go to a show last night, but it was canceled.  I was so relieved, because I was not motivated to go!

Karen and I went to see The Pixies at Peaboyd on Thursday.  It was phenomenal!  Probably the second time I've been to a real concert (The first being Morrissey).  You know, like a real show with musicians playing the songs flawlessly and a bad-ass visual show included.  I was mesmerized by the lights!!!  They played for 1:40, then encored.  I was blown away.

There was also a Blues game, and a parking spot was nowhere to be found.  We parked a block north of the old Creepy Crawl.  It was maybe fifteen minutes walk with all the snow and ice and stoplights.  My checks froze.  Seriously, I have red burn marks on my face.

Friday, Jason had a show down on Cherokee.  The space was small but nice.  Some of the best bathroom graffiti I've seen in STL.  The sound wasn't too awesome, though.  When we left, we could hear the bass three blocks away!

Also on Friday, I decided to head to work for a few hours.  There were a few things I had to get done.  I was hoping that if I went on Friday, no one would be there.  But I was wrong.  Jerk co-worker (AND HER KID!) were there!  FUCK!  One of the front desk girls was there.  And then office manager and her daughter came up, too.  Luckily, I was in the lab by myself and I could close the door and enjoy some quiet.

Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow after all this time off.  I would gladly accept a work from job.
